Book Summary

This series is about the Brand family with Garrett as the oldest and the caretaker of the family.

This is Garrett’s story.

His world is turned upside down when a gorgeous baby is left at his front door.

Then when an irate lady storms into his house accusing him of murdering her sister, he knows that his life is about to change.

That lady happens to be Chelsea Brennan, someone who actually peaks his interest.

After they come to some sort of understanding, Garrett agrees to help her figure out who actually killed her sister.

It’s after he gets a phone call from an unknown caller telling him that Chelsea’s life is in danger, does he realize that he neds to take things to another level.

They also devise a plan where Garrett will seduce her to get her to stay at the ranch.  Even though that completely bombs, he still gets know Chelsea and realizes what she has had to deal with her entire life.

And true to any romance, both characters have issues that they have to work through in order to be together.

Chelsea and her sister grew up in with a horribly abuse father with their mother paying the price for protecting them.  So she has a lot of anger that she’s still dealing with.

Garrett raised his five siblings after their parents died.  He’s a gentle giant who has been alone so long that he doesn’t know how to even be with anyone.

But he does convince her to stay for a time and their feeling for each other grow.

They also all fall in love with baby Ethan as they each take care of him.

The father of Ethan is a crime boss that killed her sister and now wants the baby and will kill Chelsea to get him.

And when Chelsea finds out, she makes a drastic move and confront the crime boss to kill him.

This leads to a confrontation in the middle of nowhere.  And it’s where all Brand siblings some to help save both Garrett and Chelsea.

While I found the author was actually a talented writer, there were aspects of the storyline were completely unrealistic.

Like when Chelsea confronts the crime boss herself with no back up and without even thinking about what that will do.

I did enjoy the story though and will look for add’l books in this series and by this author.

I was glad that it ended happy and that the rest of the family will be getting their own stories.
