Book Details

Thankful in Good Hope is the 11th book in a 21-book series. This book was published in October 2019.

The main genre for this story is contemporary romance, but I would also add in a small town romance.

I’d call this a second chance romance. But more importantly, I’d call this a romance about secrets.

I would also add it’s a story about life, and dealing with the troubles and struggles of life!

This is full length story with 265 pages.

There are no other book covers for this story.

This is Trinity McConnell’s and Ryder Goodhue’s story. It’s an endearing story about how, sometimes, it’s okay to keep secrets, especially when those secrets protect someone you love.

This story is located in Good Hope, a small township in the Door County peninsula in Wisconsin.

So far, in this series, I’ve noticed that these characters have an external and an internal issue to deal with.

A few things happen during this story that ties it to the other stories in this series:

  • Trinity and Ryder get married at the end of the book.
  • This story happened just before Thanksgiving.
  • Zoe becomes BFFs with Brynn and Lia.

Book Summary

This is Ryder’s and Trinity’s story. Ryder has been a long standing character we finally get a chance to know. He’s the owner of the Daily Grind, the local coffee shop everyone likes to visit.

Trinity is a new character. She’s the younger sister to Wyatt (book 10) and is a clinical psychologist. We first met Trinity in book 10 when she ran in Ryder when their flights where both cancelled and while Trinity was able to find a room, Ryder didn’t!! Very fun meet cute!

Now Trinity as come to Good Hope cuz Wyatt told her about Liam Gallagher and a job opening that just might be a good fit. So she heads to Good Hope for Wyatt’s and Greer’s wedding and who does she see at the wedding looking dashing as ever – Wyatt!

It turns out Liam is an old classmate of Trinity’s and happily welcomes her into his thriving and busy practice.

The connection that they started is still strong and life becomes sweet.

That is until Ryder get a phone call that changes everything.

You see, Ryder has a friend who has passed away and left him his daughter!!

Talk about having your life turned updside down! And for the very best reason. We see a confirmed bachelor step up and become the dad that an orphaned 11 year old needs.

But in reality he isn’t her biological father. But only Ryder knows that. He knows that he couldn’t be her father, his relationship with Jenna was never like that.

But when he finds out that Jenna’s father wants custody of Zoe, he knows that he must do everything, EVERYTHING, to protect this little girl. You see, Jenna was severely abused by this father. And no one believed her, not even her mother.

So when Jenna confided in Ryder, he was one of the only ones who believed her. And she knew that he would do everything possible to protect her daughter from her own father.

So what follows is a story of secrets. When is it okay to keep secrets and when is it not!?!? It’s a huge thing to consider.

And when this father comes sniffing around trying to intimidate people in Ryder’s life, keeping those secrets are what makes his life impossible.

Conclusion

Okay, there’s a whole lot more to this story. I really enjoyed it tho. I enjoyed how the author took the topic of secrets and wrapped a story around how it’s okay to keep certain types of secrets.

Life is full of people that should find a special place in he** and keeping them from getting what they want is what every decent person should be making a point in doing. I would’ve done the same thing. If my child needed me to keep this type of secret, I would’ve happily done so.

This is definitely a story worth reading.
