Book Summary
Into the Whirlwind is the 2nd book in the Boss, Inc. Series.
This story is about Dirk Reynolds and Megan O’Brien.
Dirk first met Megan in book 1. She was one of the models that worked with Valerie.
When her son gets kidnapped, she has noone to turn to, so she turns to Dirk for help. The only thing is, she gave him to boot at the end of book 1. So he’s pretty bummed and doesn’t know if he will help her.
But she begs for his help anyway. She knows he is the only one that can find her son and save him. He reluctantly agrees even though she broke his heart when she asked him to walk away (at the end of book 1).
Following his gut, Dirk knows that Megan is not out of danger and he knows that he is the only one to really protect her. So he sticks around. She tells him that she made a huge mistake and she is sorry that she hurt him so badly.
While they are trying to find her son and who could be responsible, they mend their relationship.
I enjoyed the story. But I found that it was typical. Megan gets kidnapped near the end, lured by her ex. Dirk takes off after her despite she is flown to another part of the world. He saves her from certain death and they live happily ever after.
Okay, so the ending was actually kind of cheesy. Still an enjoyable read!!
While Into the Fury (book 1) and Into the Firestorm (book 3) are in this series, you don’t have to read them in order to enjoy this series. It helps a little, but it’s not essential. They do follow each other, so events that happen in book 1 are already done in book 2. But there is no background story going on that you have to keep track of!!
