Book Summary
Starfish Moon is the 3rd book in the Brides of Blueberry Cove by Donna Kauffman.
This series is about the three McCrae sisters. And this story is about the youngest Kerry.
She’s a free spirit that has always had wonderlust and as soon as she was an adult, she was off wandering the world.
At one point in her travels, she ended up in Australia working on a cattle station for more than a year.
And it was at this cattle station that she meets and gets to know Cooper Jax, the oldest son of to the owners to this cattle station. Then when she gets word that her brother is getting married, she heads home to Maine. And due some other things happening, she doesn’t go back.
Then unbeknownst to Kerry, Cooper comes to Blueberry Cove to find out if what they felt for each other is something that they should explore.
On leave for a month, Cooper and Kerry try to discover what they are feeling for each other. Kerry is determined to continue to be a wanderer. And Cooper is going to do his best to convince her that she wants and needs something more.
So this story has a get to know you type of feel. Cooper and Kerry have to get to know each other in a different way as they are on her turf now and not his.
You also meet all the characters from both series (the Brides and the Bachelors). By this time all are married except Fiona, who’s engaged. So this book happens to be the last in both book series.
All the characters are living and working in Blueberry Cove and a part of each other’s lives. And when they meet Cooper, they all side on the side of love and team up to convince Kerry to explore this new relationship and see where it goes.
Kerry, of course, has a whole bunch of hangups and doesn’t know what she wants, but she’s willing to try to see how things go.
And that includes an intimate relationship as well. And that has a couple of scenes that you need to watch out for with plenty of details to skip if needed.
So for the majority of the book, they spend a short time together, really getting to know each other. Cooper meets all the wonderful characters of Blueberry Cove.
Then right near the end of the book, Cooper’s life drops out from under him. And he has to head back home.
This is when Kerry finally realizes what she wants and actually goes to his station in Austrailia. And of course, they live happily ever after!!
It’s a cute story. I enjoyed reading all about the other characters from both book series. You’ll find that this book ends both book series.
Although, it could lead to another book series entirely because of Cooper’s younger sister who has a wandering foot as well. So we’ll see!
