Book Details

The Real Mr. Right in Good Hope is the 17th book in a 21-book series. This book was published in August 2021.

The main genre for this story is contemporary romance, but I would also add in a small town romance.

I would call this a second chance romance because this is a second time around for Oaklee and Isaak.

I would also call it a “what’s right in front of you” type of romance too.

I would also add it’s a story about life, and dealing with the troubles and struggles of life!

This is full length story with 256 pages. There are no other book covers for this story.

This is Oaklee Marshall’s and Isaak Cochran’s story. This story is told from their point of view in 3rd person. Pls also note that all the sisters play a role in the storyline of each story.

This story is located in Good Hope, a small township in the Door County peninsula in Wisconsin.

So far, in this series, I’ve noticed that these characters have an external and an internal issue to deal with.

A few things happen during this story that ties it to the other stories in this series:

Book Summary

This is Oaklee’s and Isaak’s story. This is a charming story about opposites attract and about finding balance in our relationships.

Oaklee joined this series back in her brother Dan’s story (book 6). She became an integral part of the community as is a part of many character’s lives. She also became an integral part of the matchmaking schemes of Gladys, Katherine and Ruby.

And while she has several jobs, she’s also very well organized and has her hands in many different organizations and projects happening in Good Hope.

She’s the complete opposite to her brother Dan. She’s a free spirit and he’s as conservative as they come. And this plays a huge part in the story. She was a late in life child to her parents, but has never gotten along with them. She was always a disappointment to them as she could never conform to what her conservative parents wanted or liked.

To give you an example, she loves to change the color of her hair regularly. Now while this isn’t a big deal to most people, to her conservative parents, it was outlandish and inappropriate.

Isaak is a newcomer to Good Hope and works for the Good Hope Outfitters as a guide. He’s becoming a part of the community.

Oaklee and Isaak shared an unforgettable kiss on New Year’s. She then completely ignored him as she had a huge crush on Ethan Shaw.

Now this is where the storyline gets weird. And to me, a change in the author’s writing style. Oaklee decides she’s going to surprise Ethan by being in her place, naked, in bed, to show him that she’s the one for him and not Gianna.

And this was WHILE he’s dating Gianna. She even approached Gianna and told her to stay away from Ethan, which played a role in that storyline, which I thought was pretty lame.

Isaak overhears Oaklee planning this, and stops her from making a huge mistake. And then this is never really mentioned again.

This is where this becomes an opposites attract romance. Isaak and Oaklee are complete opposites and at first don’t even like each other. But as they spend time together, they learn more about each other.

And is part of the storyline. Oaklee is a free spirit and doesn’t really plan anything. Isaak likes to have a bit of structure in his day and how he manages his life. To challenge each other, they decide to live like the other for a week to see how things go.

This is a friends to lovers romance as Isaak is Oaklee’s friend long before they were lovers. And he helped her in many ways.

This book is called The Real Mr. Right in Good Hope because while Oaklee had a huge crush on Ethan, she wasn’t meant for him, she was meant to be with Isaak.

Conclusion

I did enjoy this book. The characters had some realistic issues that many of us have. I didn’t think Oaklee’s character arc was complete. She had huge issues with her parents. And they weren’t completely dealt with.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. Lots of things learned. Definitely worth reading!
