Love Lessons in Good Hope is the 14th book in the Good Hope Series by Cindy Kirk.
Book Details
Love Lessons in Good Hope is the 14th book in a 21-book series. This book was published in June 2020.
The main genre for this story is contemporary romance, but I would also add in a small town romance.
I would call this a second chance romance, a surprise pregnancy romance and an opposites attract romance!!! I would even add it’s an older woman, younger man romance.
I would also add it’s a story about life, and dealing with the troubles and struggles of life!
This is full length story with 276 pages.
There are no other book covers for this story.
This is Charlotte McCray’s and Adam Vogele’s story. This story is told from their point of view in 3rd person.
This story is located in Good Hope, a small township in the Door County peninsula in Wisconsin.
So far, in this series, I’ve noticed that these characters have an external and an internal issue to deal with.
A few things happen during this story that ties it to the other stories in this series:
- Clay and Bea get married.
- Stan Vogele is Adam step father, and suffers from polio related symptoms.
- Marigold and Jeremy are having another boy!
- We learn more about Piper and her back story.
- Marigold and Charlotte invite Gianna Ricci to be a part of their salon. She gets her own story in book 16.
Book Summary
This is Charlotte’s and Adam’s story. This is an endearing romance story about giving love a chance.
We’ve seen both of these characters on and off since the beginning of the series. Charlotte is a hairstylist who owned Golden Doors, and eventually closed her doors and moved away. Now, she’s moved back to Good Hope and merged with Marigold and created Marigold’s Golden Door Salon and Day Sap. Fun huh!
She has two goals. Get the salon up and running and make a baby.
This story happens right around Independence Day!!
Adam is an organic farmer who’s built a life that he loves. He spend his childhood without a father, and when he came to Good Hope, and Stan became his father! He loves his life in Good Hope.
They had one night several years earlier and never forget each other. So that’s why I’d call this a second chance romance. These two reconnect easily and quickly.
This is also a surprise pregnancy romance as when they reconnect, guess what!!! It left them with a surprise! And that changes everything.
This is also an opposites attract romance as Charlotte and Adam are completely different in what they want, where they’re going and how they’re gonna get there.
Charlotte is an older character, okay not that old!! At 41 years old, she’s decided that she doesn’t need a man, but she does want a baby. And she’s even started the steps with specialty doctors to be able to do it on her own.
Adam is a bit old fashioned. Because of the life he’s led, he loves the home he’s built in Good Hope and wants to keep it.
When he finds out that Charlotte is pregnant with his baby, he knows he has to convince her that they can build a life together in Good Hope.
And it takes a bit of convincing as Adam is several years younger than Charlotte. Hence, why this is also called an older woman, younger man romance. Adam had even dated several other women, all older, in the previous books. So, the fact that he’s interested in Charlotte is no surprise.
I would also call this a friends to lovers romance, as Adam goes out of his way to earn Charlotte’s trust by being her friend first. They both have issues and them getting to know each other as friends first is a better way for her to be able to rely upon him. And of course, love happens along the way.
Conclusion
It’s a fun story. I really liked these two characters, they’re entertaining and interesting.
Definitely worth reading π π!!!!
