True to You in Good Hope is the 15th book in the Good Hope Series by Cindy Kirk.
Book Details
True to You in Good Hope is the 15th book in a 21-book series. This book was published in October 2020.
The main genre for this story is contemporary romance, but I would also add in a small town romance.
I love it when romances have more than one trope weaved in the story! This one has:
- second chance romance
- fake boyfriend romance
- friends to lovers romance
- forced proximity romance
I would also add it’s a story about life, and dealing with the troubles and struggles of life!
This is full length story with 282 pages. There are no other book covers for this story.
This is Piper Ambrose’s and Anders Cross’ story. This story is told from their point of view in 3rd person. Pls also note that all the sisters play a role in the storyline of each story.
This story is located in Good Hope, a small township in the Door County peninsula in Wisconsin.
So far, in this series, I’ve noticed that these characters have an external and an internal issue to deal with.
A few things happen during this story that ties it to the other stories in this series:
- We meet Dexter Woodward here!
- Lots of fun events happen in every story in this series.
Book Summary
This is Piper’s and Anders’ story. This is an endearing romance about fighting for the love (and the life) you want!!
We’ve been getting to know Piper for several stories, and now she get her own! I love it when fav characters get their own story.
Piper is the owner of Swoon, the wedding dress shop. She had to move her shop to the new location on Wrigley Road. She wasn’t the only shop that needed to move due to the renovations that needed to be done to the downtown core.
But her shop is not doing well. Not only did she not want to move to the new location, the bottom line is suffering and she’s not sure what to do.
Anders is the younger brother to Beck Cross (book 1). He’s come to Good Hope as he’s at a crossroads in his life and has come to hang out with his brother and his family.
But he’s also independent, and decides to live in an apartment right beside Piper. Hence, forced proximity!!
This is also a fake boyfriend romance. You see, Piper’s sister is engaged —- to Piper’s ex!! And she’s asked Piper to make her wedding dress.
Needless to say, a sticky situation! And one that is the focus of the story.
Piper never told her sister Sasha what happened with her ex. She never told anyone!! So not only is this story about Piper and Anders, it’s also about owning up to mistakes one has made, working thru some problems and issues one might have, and admitting to the people you love the hardest things you’ve done.
Anders agrees to be her fake boyfriend so she can face not only her sister but also their mother. And during the time they spend together, they fall for each other.
I’d call this a second chance romance as these two had a strong connection back during Ami’s and Beck’s wedding. Now they have a chance to see if they might have a chance to see if there could be something between them.
And just like the rest of this series, each of these characters take the time to get to know each other as friends before they become lovers. And as friends, they help each other deal with really difficult things – together!!
Conclusion
Both characters need to learn and grow. And both need to own up to things in their past and answer for past choices.
I liked how both main characters had problems, issues to work thru and figure out. And how they both had to solve those problems together and separately.
It’s a good story. I enjoyed how the author tied this story with the others by having many of the other characters involved in these main characters’ lives.
Definitely worth reading!!!
