Be Mine in Good Hope

Be Mine in Good Hope is the 3rd book in the Good Hope Series by Cindy Kirk.

Book Details

Be Mine in Good Hope is the 3rd book in a 21-book series. This book was published in 2017.

The main genre for this story is contemporary romance, but I would also add in a small town romance.

I would also call this a second chance romance as this is where Marigold and Cade get a second chance at their romance.

I would also add it’s a story about life, and dealing with the troubles and struggles of life!

This is full length story with 316 pages.

There are no other book covers for this story.

This is Marigold’s and Cade’s story. This story is told from their point of view in 3rd person. Pls also note that all the sisters play a role in the storyline of each story.

This story is located in Good Hope, a small township in the Door County peninsula in Wisconsin.

While the first four books are about the four Bloom sisters, this series is wrapped around the wonderful people of Good Hope.

So far, in this series, I’ve noticed that these characters have an external and an internal issue to deal with.

In this case, Marigold has lost her job. She’s moved back home to not only lick her wounds but also be able to figure out what her next move might be. She also has personal issues, just like everyone else.

Cade Rallis has come to Good Hope as the new interim sheriff. He fell in love with the town and decided to move when he found he needed a change in his own life.

I found that this story falls around New Year’s as she meets Cade again at Ami’s and Beck’s party.

Book Summary

Marigold and Cade first met at his cousin’s wedding. They had an amazing night together and neither of them forgot the other.

Marigold is a celebrated hairstylist going to bigger and better places until she gets fired from her job and her boss ends up blackballing her. She moves home lick her wounds but also be around family until she figures out what she needs to do next.

Cade moved to Good Hope as the new interim sheriff. He’s way too qualified for the job, but he’s looking for a slower way to life and fell in love with the area when he came for his cousin’s wedding.

The fact that it’s also Marigold’s hometown is a plus. When she moves back home, he knows that he can’t lose her a second time.

Marigold never meant for Good Hope to be her permanent home, even with her family here. You see, when she was a child, she was diagnosed with dyslexia. It left her with this internal desire to succeed at all costs. She even made a vow to herself she was be more successful than her sisters.

So Marigold’s journey is coming to realize that she needs to re-evaluate her definition of success. As she and Cade rekindle their relationship, she has one foot out the door just waiting for her next great thing to happen.

In the end, even after being offered her her dream job, she realizes that success is measured by “having the opportunity to do what you loved while being surrounded by people you loved, and who loved you” and decides to stay in Good Hope.

Conclusion

Okay, so a lot more happened, but it’s a tender story about adjusting a deeply personal value when that value has been put together the wrong way.

And I did find that this character did more whining than I liked, but it helped to see who she was and the struggles she had to deal with.

And because we all deal with things a little differently, I did like this character. Marigold is a marvelous example of when we shift our thinking, we can find the peace and happiness we are looking for!!
